Exaggerated Use of Social Networks
Social networks have gained a very important place in our lives. They seem to be continuing their rise continuously. Especially in widespread social networks like Facebook, this situation has reached astronomical proportions, resulting in strange outcomes such as one in every two people having a Facebook account. While Facebook sometimes helps people communicate and stay connected with each other, it also has negative effects by creating addiction in some people at other times. The state of addiction experienced on Facebook or any other network leads to such dangerous consequences that they can create significant adversities in the lives of both the individual and those around them. The exaggerated use of social networks, which has become widespread recently, is creating extremely dire effects, although not yet noticed by most people. As an example of the exaggerated use of social networks, a couple in the United States who named their baby "Hashtag", a Twitter term, came to the agenda. While the couple stated that they gave such a name to express their devotion to Twitter, they did not make any comments about the psychological crises the child might experience in the future. In addition, other examples of the exaggerated use of social networks include people who open Twitter or Facebook accounts for their pets, and people who create Facebook accounts for their unborn babies. Although all of these may seem harmless, they can seriously harm people and create long-term problems.
