What is Cataract, What are its Symptoms?
What is Cataract?
Cataract, also known as göksu in the public, is an eye disease that occurs when the eye lens, which has a transparent structure, loses its transparency over time. As the disease progresses, vision loss occurs and images become hazy. Although it is a treatable eye disease, significant improvements in the patient's vision can be achieved with laser cataract surgery.
What are the Symptoms of Cataract?
The main symptom of cataract is blurred vision as the disease progresses. Many patients describe this vision loss as if they are watching all images from behind a curtain. Changes in the color of the eye lens are also considered symptoms of cataract. Although cataract is known as an age-related disease, congenital cataract problems are sometimes experienced due to problems during pregnancy.
