What is Exhaust Inspection and How is it Done?
Exhaust inspection is one of the important stages that must be done. At these points, air pollution caused by the exhaust gases of vehicles running and used in traffic harms people's health. For this reason, measurements are taken to reduce the exhaust gas pollutants that cause pollution and harm. At the same time, exhaust emission measurements are made within the framework of regulatory principles regarding the control of exhaust gas emissions originating from motor vehicles in traffic, as published in the Official Gazettes in previous years. Furthermore, exhaust emission testing services will be provided after the necessary procedures and actions are completed following the opening of vehicle inspection stations. For these reasons, these services will absolutely not be provided in the first days at newly opened stations. Private vehicles, i.e., automobiles, must undergo the necessary procedures for the first time after three years and then once every two years. Official automobiles, on the other hand, must undergo these procedures once a year after their first two years.
What are the Exhaust Inspection Periods?
Tractors are not subject to these procedures, i.e., exhaust emission measurements. It should be known that exhaust emission applications are not made for two or three-wheeled vehicles. At the same time, exhaust emission measurements are not required for diesel-powered vehicles that were registered before the years announced and implemented in previous years. According to research, all motor vehicles in traffic are obliged to have an exhaust emission inspection every year after approximately ten years of age. At the same time, it is mandatory to have an exhaust emission measurement within one month from the expiration date of the exemption period after the vehicle's first registration. At this point, applications are made based on the vehicle's entry into traffic after the requested emission measurements.
