What is Printing?
After the plates are prepared in printing systems, the subsequent stages are printing systems. The printing methods generally used and found in the field of printing are offset, letterpress, gravure, flexography, and screen printing. Accordingly, in recent history, digital printing methods have been added to these printing systems in printing fields, and different service areas have also begun. Depending on the characteristics of the products to be produced in the printing fields, the most suitable substrates, also called printing materials, are cardboard, paper, or film materials, on which the necessary prints are made. The values of the machines in these specially prepared and produced printing systems and products vary with different price ranges according to the printing methods and the characteristics of the machines. In printing houses that provide services, specially trained employees are sought to operate such valuable machines. Furthermore, on these special machines with computer comfort, specialized employees who have graduated from schools that provide printing education are also required.
What Happens After Printing?
Regardless of the printing method and systems used, all products undergo post-printing processes according to their specific characteristics in all stages. For example, after the inside and covers of books are printed, they become books after being subjected to binding processes. The necessary processes in these fields include folding, creasing, collating, and cover mounting. A cardboard packaging undergoes certain necessary stages to become usable after printing, the first of which are shaped cuts and stripping operations. Then, the necessary other processes are carried out, which is the final step: gluing. After this, the cardboard becomes usable in a short time and ready for use. The first steps to becoming a manager in the production departments of this profession are through work. In the printing profession, knowing the necessary materials, the machine, and the operator's psychology, and having experience in the necessary production are known as the most fundamental keys to becoming a manager.
